Dear Colleagues, Esteemed Guests, and Participants,
It is with great honour and immense pride that I welcome you to the 11th annual conference of the Middle East Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (MEPOS), being held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This event marks a significant milestone in the journey of MEPOS, bringing together leading experts, practitioners, and researchers from across the region and beyond, all united by a shared commitment to advancing pediatric orthopedic care.
The establishment of MEPOS is driven by a vision of the founders to create a robust, collaborative network of pediatric orthopedic specialists dedicated to improving the standard of care for children across the Middle East. Our mission is to foster the exchange of knowledge, promote research, and enhance the clinical skills of our members through education and collaboration.
This conference is a reflection of that mission. It is designed not only to disseminate the latest advances in pediatric orthopedics but also to create a platform for dialogue, innovation, and the development of best practices tailored to the unique challenges faced in our region. As the General Secretary of MEPOS, I am deeply committed to ensuring that this society becomes a beacon of excellence, driving improvements in pediatric orthopedic care throughout the Middle East.
Pediatric orthopedics is a field that requires a deep understanding of both the developing musculoskeletal system and the complexities of congenital and acquired conditions that affect children. The practice of pediatric orthopedics is not merely a technical endeavor; it is a compassionate calling that requires us to address the unique needs of our youngest patients with the utmost care and precision.
The Middle East, with its diverse populations and healthcare systems, presents unique challenges and opportunities in the field of pediatric orthopedics. The first annual MEPOS conference is a critical step toward addressing these challenges. It is an opportunity for us to come together, share our experiences, and learn from one another to elevate the standard of care we provide.
The conference will feature a comprehensive program that includes keynote lectures, interactive workshops, case discussions, and panel debates. We have invited some of the most distinguished experts in pediatric orthopedics to share their insights and expertise. The topics covered will span the full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic care, from the management of common conditions such as developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and clubfoot to the latest advances in complex surgical techniques and minimally invasive procedures.
